In 2017, while in Israel preparing my first documentary, HEALING HEARTS, I broached the subject with my very dear friend, Amos Oz, of my making a film about him – not a biography, but a film about his literature. I did this knowing that he no longer wished to participate in any films about himself. He answered: “for you, Katya, I say ‘yes’!”

Amos died in a Tel Aviv hospital on December 28th, 2018, when I was in Jerusalem completing the filming of HEALING HEARTS.
